About Me

When my full-time job in public accounting started taking too much time away from my family, I knew I needed to make a change. I left public accounting to become Director of Finance at a nonprofit with nearly 400 employees. It allowed me to be home more often, but many evenings my brain would still be at work. I left my job to focus on my family while my children were young. Now that they are older and more independent, I have the availability and flexibility to do what I enjoy – accounting!

I love popcorn (stove-top, not that microwave stuff), shrimp, and all things carbs. I’m a spreadsheet junkie and love learning new tricks and formulas in Excel. Most evenings and weekends you can find me relaxing while reading in my hammock or just listening to the trees blow in the wind and watching the sunset.

My knowledge of bookkeeping, payroll, auditing, and taxes, combined with my experience with mom-and-pop shops, service-based business, large and small nonprofits, and local government units has prepared me to assist you. I know how important your time is, and that’s why I want to help. You can quit spending your precious time stumbling through QuickBooks, filing receipts, or reconciling statements and spend more time doing the things you enjoy with the people you love.

  • Extremely thorough and organized! Katie is an amazing asset to my business as she organizes and tracks things that are important yet overwhelming for me to do alone as a small business owner. I highly recommend her services!

  • Katie has been absolutely wonderful to work with! We’ve had a lot of changeover during the past four years in our Director of Finance position resulting in many different ways of entering info in our Quickbooks program. The result was financial statements that had a low level of confidence by the Board of Directors. Our newest Director of Finance and myself have been working with Katie since June of 2019 and many items have been cleared up resulting in a much higher level of accuracy in our reports. We continue to work with her on remaining cleanup items and our intention is to keep her on board with us to do regular reviews of our books. Our Board of Directors is also very pleased with the results and have a much higher level of confidence in our financial reports. I would highly recommend Katie to anyone; she is very professional, pleasant and easy to work with!
